The AI Action Summit is kicking off in Paris (10th – 11th Feb 2025) and we are delighted to announce that our leadership as well as some Members of our A+ Alliance are taking part. 

The AI Action Summit (10th – 11th Feb 2025) hosted by France is a gathering at the Grand Palais, bringing together Heads of State and Government, leaders of international organizations, CEOs of small and large companies, representatives of academia, non-governmental organizations, artists and members of civil society.

Women At The Table CEO Caitlin Kraft-Buchman is speaking on Monday 10th on a panel hosted by Ministère des Affaires étrangères françaisère on “A call to rethink AI: why gender equality and human rights now matter more than ever?” along with Delphine O, the French Ambassador and Secretary General of the Generation Equality Forum, as well as * Meredith Whittaker, Sue Hendrickson, Alessandra Sala and others. 

The MENA observatory on Responsible AI led by Nagla Rizk and AymurAI, an Argentina project part of the Feminist AI f<a+i>r Research Network are among the 50 Selected Projects which will be spotlighted as part of the innovative solutions from the Call for AI Projects launched by the Paris Peace Forum.

AymurAI is a project with an AI-powered tool designed to open data and anonymize information in the judiciary, putting the focus on gender-based violence. It focuses on providing transparency into gender violence cases, helping courts and public institutions enhance their transparency and accountability. The tool empowers women and marginalized communities, promoting trust in democratic institutions through open justice initiatives. AymurAI’s long-term goal is to foster societal change by shaping policies that address systemic inequalities and improve safety. Key partners include local governments, judges, civic society organizations.

MENA Observatory on Responsible AI

The MENA Observatory is a regional hub for responsible AI research. It focuses on knowledge translation through various formats, influences policy by engaging with policymakers, & builds networks with diverse stakeholders, including researchers, policymakers, civil society organizations, businesses, journalists, local communities, students, & international entities. It amplifies local voices, especially those of women and marginalized groups. Key partners include the African Observatory on Responsible AI and Birzeit University in Palestine. Achievements include hosting successful webinars, publishing resources in Arabic & English (research papers, educational material, datasets), creating a dynamic video series, & participating in conferences on AI governance. The Observatory emphasizes feminist AI & platform work, and aims to foster a just MENA AI landscape aligned with local realities.
