Decoloniality, Gender & AI: Where do these areas of work intersect?

Systemic gender, racial and intersectional bias sit at the core of current Artificial Intelligence & Algorithmic Decision-Making processes born in the North, replicated in the South. Combatting and correcting this wired bias and discrimination is urgent in order that pro-social capabilities of AI & ADM can be activated. How do the projects of decoloniality, feminism and AI intersect in that all are concerned with issues of power, representation, and justice and they often overlap in their efforts to create a more equitable and inclusive society.
These projects also share a commitment to challenging and questioning dominant narratives and structures, and to advocating for the rights and dignity of marginalized and oppressed groups. How can insights between movements and schools of thought be allied to help ‘bend the arc of the moral universe’ and help create new and just systems as technology threatens to embed old and unjust biases with velocity and scale.
