A side event at the Human Rights Council , organized by the Permanent Representation of Finland, aims to explore how the spread of disinformation and online gender-based violence undermine democratic processes and affects women in political spheres. The session will provide a platform to discuss how disinformation exacerbates gender-based barriers to women’s political engagement, while also exploring strategies for safeguarding democracy and promoting women’s rights.
